Note to Self: Get an Interesting Life

I have no excuse for not blogging for almost a month, other than that my life just really isn't that exciting. I know that's lame, but alas, it's true.

School is going really well so far this year. For any of you who have been losing sleep over my pen dilemma, I'm happy to report my new pens are working just fine. I still don't feel the same love for them as I did for my Papermate, but perhaps in time. I've got some really great students this year. I wish these kids really knew just how smart and funny they are, they amaze me every day! I wish I had time to write down all the things they say to share their humor and insight with the world, but unfortunately there just isn't time. I am going to try to do a better job of remembering a few to amuse my loyal readers with (yes, all 3 of you!). I'm excited about a possible pen pal project for my Creative Writing class (11th and 12th grade) with a middle school class in Ohio. It's still in the works, but hopefully something will work out. Also, I'm going to try to incorporate music into my Creative Writing curriculum. I love it, my students love it...so why not use that to our advantage? I have a few ideas regarding use/misuse of the thesaurus, interpretation of song lyrics, etc. If any of you have ideas, feel free to pass them along!

My weekends have been the highlight of my life lately. HBFB got a teaching job, so we finally have the same schedule, including most breaks and vacations! I have been loving going to Art Hill on a pretty regular basis, and am so excited to start enjoying the fall weather.

Life is good!
